Retired IAS officer Kishor Raje Nimbalkar on Friday, has been appointed as the chairperson of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The state government has already issued a notice in the same regards.
He will be in service for MPSC for six years from the day he takes over or till he completes 62 years of his age.
An IAS officer of the 2003 batch, he was retired as chief of ‘Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran’ in September.
60 year old Nimbalkar joined the government as a deputy collector and worked as secretary, relief and rehabilitation, during the first and second wave of the Covid pandemic.
He is also credited with playing a major role in transportation of migrant labourers to their home states besides erecting transit camps for people in various districts. Nimbalkar hails from Shirur tehsil of Pune district.
