1991 batch senior IAS officer of Haryana cadre, Mr. Ashok Khemka has been transferred again. The Haryana government has given order of his transfer and four Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officers. An official statement said that Ashok Khemka, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, is appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Archives Department. This is his 55th transfer during a career spanning 30 years.
Khemka will replace Dr Raja Sekhar Vundru, a 1990 batch IAS officer, as additional chief secretary at the Archives department. His last new posting was in October 2021. Khemka has been transferred over 50 times in his three-decade-long career and has often been accused of being targeted for being honest and speaking out against corruption.
Khemka’s transfer comes days after he reportedly wrote to Haryana Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal, indicating that he didn’t have enough work following the merger of his Science and Technology Department into the Higher Education Department. In the letter, he indicated that the workload in the Science and Technology Department “was not more than 2-3 hours per week”, sources who have seen the communication, said.
Among the HCS officers, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Manav Malik of Radaur has been posted as Inquiry Officer in the State Agricultural Marketing Board. Similarly, Amit Kumar, Joint Director (Administration), Tourism Department, has been given the charge of Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Radaur.
Mayank Bhardwaj, Estate Officer of Kaithal and Kurukshetra under Haryana Urban Development Authority, has been given the responsibility of City Magistrate of Rewari. On the other hand, City Magistrate of Rewari Devendra Sharma has been given the post of Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) of Kalayat.
