In an official statement released on Friday, 30th October, 1998 batch IAS officer, Jishnu Baruah is appointed as the new chief secretary of the Assam government.
Mr. Baruah currently resides on the post of additional chief secretary for Home and Political, Revenue and Disaster Management and Assam Accord Implementation departments. He will be succeeding Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna, who is all set to retire on October 31.
He is graduated in Philosophy and has completed his post-graduate in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. He has a vast collection of books, both fiction, and non-fiction, and is an avid reader. He is also an ardent Cricket fan and is very fond of traveling.
