In a major administrative rejig in West Bengal, the state has got a new Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, and Finance Secretary ahead of 2021 assembly polls.
Alapan Bandyopadhyay has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary replacing the incumbent Rajiv Sinha, who retired on 30 September 2020. Bandyopadhyay was serving as the Home Secretary and will now take charge as the Chief Secretary from 1 October.
This comes after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter to announce the appointment of these IAS officers.

H K Dwivedi, hitherto Finance Secy, will be new Home Secy & Manoj Pant takes charge of Finance w.e.f. 1st Oct. Best wishes to entire team.
Whereas, Rajiv Sinha has been appointed as the Chairman of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) for a period of 3 years from 1 October 2020.
I would also like to announce that outgoing Chief Secretary of West Bengal Shri Rajiva Sinha, has now been appointed the Chairman of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation for a period of 3 years w.e.f 1st October.

H K Dwivedi who was currently serving as the Finance Secretary has also been appointed as the new Home Secretary. Whereas, Manoj Pant, Land Reform Secretary and secretary of the refugee relief and rehabilitation department has been given a new charge of the Finance Secretary.
