IAS P Ravi Kumar has been appointed as 38th chief secretary of Karnataka.
BS Yediyurappa-led Karnataka government appointed IAS officer P Ravi Kumar as the 38th chief secretary of the state. Ravi Kumar will succeed TM Vijay Bhaskar Rao.
Bhaskar Rao will be superannuated on December 31, 2020.
Ravi Kumar is a 1984-batch IAS officer currently serving as additional chief secretary (ACS). Prior to that, he was Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s ACS.
According to the records, newly-appointed chief secretary Ravi Kumar is the second senior-most IAS officer of Karnataka cadre following Bhaskar Rao.
Ravi Kumar may take charge on Thursday.
