17 DSPs from Jharkhand State Police Eligible for IPS Promotion

The names of 17 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from the Jharkhand State Police Service are set to be forwarded to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for consideration for promotion to the Indian Police Service (IPS). All required documentation has been prepared, and the process is now moving to the review stage.

Currently, only nine vacancies exist in the Jharkhand cadre for promotion from the State Police Service to IPS. The UPSC will review all submitted documents, and any discrepancies or shortcomings will be addressed before scheduling the Promotion Board meeting. This meeting will be attended by the Home Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP). Once completed, the promotion process will move forward.

  15. Mr. Prabhat Ranjan Barwar
  16. Mr. Anoop Kumar Baraik
  17. Mr. Sameer Kumar Tirkey

The final decision on promotions will be made following the UPSC meeting and the completion of all procedural formalities.
