New Delhi: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has granted in situ promotions to five senior IPS officers. Names of the officers include:
- Jaideep Singh,
- Janardan Singh,
- Samir S Ilme,
- Rajesh Subarno, and
- Omendra Nath Bhaskar have all been elevated from Joint Director to Additional Director.
All belong to the 1997 batch of the Indian Police Service and represent diverse state cadres.
Distinguished Careers Across Cadres
Jaideep Singh, of the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been associated with key intelligence operations and internal security initiatives. His leadership has contributed to strengthening intelligence coordination within the state.
Janardan Singh, from the Nagaland cadre, has played a pivotal role in counter-insurgency operations and strategic intelligence gathering in the northeast region.
Samir S Ilme, belonging to the Manipur cadre, has overseen regional intelligence operations and fostered close collaboration with state law enforcement agencies.
Rajesh Subarno, of the West Bengal cadre, has handled sensitive intelligence assignments and operations in eastern India, contributing to enhanced security preparedness.
Omendra Nath Bhaskar, from the Bihar cadre, has been involved in intelligence analysis and operational planning in volatile zones, supporting the Bureau’s mission-critical tasks.
Promotion Reflects Expertise and Commitment
All five officers were serving as Joint Directors in the IB prior to their promotions. The in situ elevation recognises their operational expertise, experience, and commitment to national security. These promotions also strengthen senior leadership within the Intelligence Bureau, enabling more effective strategic planning.
