His services have been assigned to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and will continue until further orders or his retirement on September 30, 2029.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shalin, who held the post of Inspector General (IG) of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and also had additional charge as IG (Security), will now join the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) as IG under central deputation.

In another key development, Ms. Harjot Kaur Bamhra, a 1992-batch IAS officer, has assumed charge as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. Upon taking over, she was welcomed by senior forest officials at Aranya Bhavan.

Ms. Bamhra instructed the officers to expedite the recruitment process for vacant posts and consider creating new positions based on departmental needs. She also emphasized the importance of strengthening eco-development committees and joint forest management committees, along with reinforcing forest boundary management.
