36 IAS and 7 PCS Officers Transferred in Punjab, Jaspreet Talwar Made Additional Chief Secretary, Planning

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Punjab, 36 IAS officers and seven PCS officers have been transferred with immediate effect. The Punjab government issued a notice stating that these transfers were made on administrative grounds. Below are the key officials affected by the reshuffle:

  • Mr. Jaspreet Talwar, 1995-batch IAS officer, previously serving as Additional Employment Chief Secretary, Generation, Skill Development & Training, has been transferred as Additional Chief Secretary, Planning, replacing Mr. Amit Dhaka, 1995-batch IAS officer. Additionally, he will take on the role of Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Taxation, relieving Mr. Krishan Kumar, 1997-batch IAS officer of the additional charge.
  • Mr. Krishan Kumar, 1997-batch IAS officer, formerly Principal Secretary of Water Resources and Financial Commissioner, Taxation, has been reassigned as Principal Secretary, Water Resources, and Principal Secretary, Finance, replacing Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, 1992-batch IAS officer.
  • Mr. Veerendra Kumar Meena, 1997-batch IAS officer, who was available for posting, has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Social Justice, Empowerment & Minorities, relieving Mr. Alok Shekhar, 1995-batch IAS officer of the additional charge.
  • Mr. Vikas Garg, 1998-batch IAS officer, previously Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, has been transferred as Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, replacing Mr. Rahul Tiwari, 2000-batch IAS officer.
  • Mr. Rahul Tiwari, 2000-batch IAS officer, formerly Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development, has been reassigned as Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, in place of Mr. Vikas Garg, 1998-batch IAS officer.
  • Ms. Alaknanda Dayal, 2000-batch IAS officer, previously Principal Secretary, Revenue Rehabilitation, has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training, taking over from Mr. Jaspreet Talwar, 1995-batch LAS officer.
  • Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi, 2003-batch IAS officer, Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, has been transferred as Administrative Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayats, replacing Mr. Dilraj Singh, 2005-batch IAS officer.
  • Ms. Shruti Singh, 2004-batch IAS officer, previously Resident Commissioner, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi, will continue in her role and additionally serve as Administrative Secretary, Technical Education & Industrial Training, relieving Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav, 2003-batch IAS officer of the additional charge.
  • Mr. Dilraj Singh, 2005-batch IAS officer, Administrative Secretary of Rural Development & Panchayats, has been reassigned as Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs and additionally will serve as Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, and Commissioner, Food & Drug Administration, replacing Mr. Abhinav, 2006-batch IAS officer.
  • Mr. Abhinav, 2006-batch IAS officer, Secretary of Health & Family Welfare and Commissioner, Food & Drug Administration, has been appointed as Administrative Secretary, Tourism & Cultural Affairs, relieving Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi, 1998-batch IAS officer of the additional charge.
