Lucknow: In a significant move late on Tuesday night, the Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, carried out a large-scale reshuffle in the state bureaucracy. A total of 4 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and 41 Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers have been transferred, with immediate effect, to new positions.
Among the key changes, 2010 batch IAS officer Bhawani Singh Khangarot, the current Managing Director of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, has been appointed as the Director (Administration) for the Medical and Health Services department.
In another major shift, 2017 batch IAS officer Riya Kejriwal, the Additional Commissioner of State Tax, has been assigned the responsibility of Managing Director at Madhyanchal Vidyut Nigam.
The reshuffle also sees a shift in responsibilities for several Joint Magistrates. 2021 batch IAS officer Sarthak Agarwal, who previously served as the Joint Magistrate of Varanasi, will now take over as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Basti. 2020 batch IAS officer Dr. Pooja Gupta, formerly the Joint Magistrate of Ghaziabad, has been appointed as the CDO of Chandauli.
