Patna: A delegation of four Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers recently visited the Bihar Prashasanik Sudhar Mission Society (BPSMS) in Patna to understand the administrative reform programmes being implemented across the state.
During a detailed meeting held on Friday, senior officials including 1995 batch IAS officer B. Rajendra, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department, and 2002 batch IAS officer Pratima Kumar Verma, Additional Mission Director of BPSMS, briefed the officers on the Society’s key initiatives and ongoing activities.
A comprehensive presentation highlighted the impact of significant reforms such as the Bihar Right to Public Grievances Redressal Act, the Bihar Right to Public Services Act, the Bihar Government Servant Grievance Redressal Act, the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), along with innovative platforms like Jigyasa and the Samadhan Call Centre.
The visiting officers – Amit Kumar Mishra (Director, MEA), Sandeep Kumar (Deputy Chief of Mission, Doha), Sushil Kumar (Consul General, Melbourne), and Manoj Bihari Verma (Ambassador to Monrovia) – were in Bihar as part of their Mid-Career Training Program Phase-II (MCTP-II).
The delegation praised BPSMS for its effective role in promoting administrative reforms and lauded the Public Grievances Redressal Act, describing it as a unique and dedicated mechanism for timely grievance redressal.
