In a significant recognition of exemplary service, 44 police personnel, including seven IPS officers, will be honoured on January 26 during a ceremony at Morhabadi. The event will be presided over by the Jharkhand Governor, and the awards include the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the Police Medal for Gallantry, and the Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal, as announced by the DGP office.
Among the 23 officers set to receive the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are Mr. Prabhat Kumar (IPS) and Mr. AV Homkar (2004-batch IPS officer).
Other recipients include Mr. Surendra Kumar Singh, Mr. Manoranjan Kumar Singh, Mr. Hemant Kumar Baitha, and Mr. Sikandar Rai, along with several other dedicated officers recognized for their exemplary contributions to public service.
Six officers, including Mr. Jitendra Kumar, Mr. Sudhir Kumar, and Mr. Shailendra Kumar Singh, will be awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry for their exceptional bravery in the line of duty. Their courageous actions have been pivotal in ensuring public safety and maintaining security.
Fifteen personnel, including IPS officers Mr. AV Homkar, Mr. Raj Kumar Lakra (2005-batch IPS officer), Mr. Anoop Birthare (2006-batch IPS officer), Mr. Anjani Jha (2012-batch IPS officer), Ms. Shivani Tiwari (2011-batch IPS officer), and Mr. Anjani Anjan (2016-batch IPS officer), will receive the Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal. This recognition highlights their remarkable efficiency and dedication during critical operations.
