The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared the empanelment of 35 senior IAS officers from the 1992, 1993, and 1994 batches for secretary-level posts at the Centre. Among them, two IAS officers each from Punjab and Haryana, along with one from Himachal Pradesh, have been included in the list.
From the Haryana cadre, 1993-batch IAS officers Ms. Sukriti Likhi and Ms. Neerja Sekhar have been empanelled. Ms. Likhi is currently serving as the Chairperson of the National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC), while Ms. Sekhar, who was earlier Special Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was appointed as Director General, National Productivity Council in December 2024.
In the Punjab cadre, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma (1993 batch) and Mr. Tejveer Singh (1994 batch) have been empanelled. Additionally, Ms. Anuradha Thakur, a 1994-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has also made it to the list.
This high-profile empanelment reflects the government’s efforts to strengthen key administrative positions at the central level with experienced officers from various states.
