6 Chhattisgarh-based IAS Officers of 2006 Batch, Including Ankit Anand, Declare Asset Details to Centre, Check Here to Know Their Net Worth

Many of these properties have either been inherited or purchased over the years, contributing to their personal incomes

Six IAS officers of the 2006 batch from the Chhattisgarh cadre have disclosed their assets to the Centre, revealing significant investments in real estate, including residential properties and agricultural land. Many of these properties have either been inherited or purchased over the years, contributing to their personal incomes.

Mr. Ankit Anand, currently serving as Secretary, owns a residential plot of 3,600 square feet at Serakheri in Raipur. He purchased it from the Housing Board, and its current value is estimated at Rs. 25 lakh.

Ms. Shruti Singh owns a 3BHK house in Nava Raipur, which she purchased in 2012 for Rs. 35 lakh. Its present market value stands at Rs. 55 lakh, and it yields an annual income of Rs. 2 lakh.

Mr. Alex Paul Menon, who is presently on deputation, has a wide portfolio of properties. In 2020, he purchased agricultural land in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, in his wife’s name for Rs. 11.59 lakh, which now generates an annual income of over Rs. 10 lakh. He also owns a house in Nava Raipur, acquired in 2008 for Rs. 35 lakh, currently valued at Rs. 65 lakh, and fetching a rental income of Rs. 1.8 lakh annually. He holds another plot in Serakheri, Raipur, bought in 2016 for Rs. 14.54 lakh, with a current value of Rs. 20 lakh. His wife owns a house in Palayamkotte, Tamil Nadu, bought in 2019 for Rs. 31.89 lakh, which provides an annual income of Rs. 60,000. Additionally, a flat in Chennai valued at Rs. 25 lakh was inherited by her. Further inherited assets include a 2,200 sq ft plot in Tirunelveli worth Rs. 7.58 lakh and a house built on 1,100 sq ft on a 3,600 sq ft land in the same area, valued at Rs. 39.64 lakh. Mr. Menon also purchased land in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, in 2024 worth Rs. 5.85 lakh.

Dr. C.R. Prasanna, serving as Secretary, possesses 14 acres of agricultural land in Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu, which he inherited. The land is valued at around Rs. 3 crore and brings in an annual income of approximately Rs. 6 lakh. He also owns another plot in Tamil Nadu worth Rs. 50 lakh, generating Rs. 40,000 annually. Additional properties include a 10,000 sq ft vacant plot in Ulundurpet worth Rs. 40 lakh and five decimals of land in the same location valued at Rs. 10 lakh.

Mr. Bhuvnesh Yadav, Secretary, has a house in Labhandi, Raipur, worth Rs. 1.10 crore, which he bought after selling an older property and taking a loan. He owns another 3,600 sq ft plot at Serakheri, Raipur, bought from the Housing Board and currently valued at Rs. 20 lakh, also financed by a loan. A residential plot in Pirda, Raipur, valued at Rs. 25 lakh, was acquired using funds from selling ancestral property and financial support from his father. He has 3 acres of inherited agricultural land in Jalore, Rajasthan, worth Rs. 15 lakh, and a 247.10 sq m plot in Jaipur, also inherited, valued at Rs. 20 lakh.

Mr. S. Bharathidasan, Secretary, owns several properties including one hectare of land in his wife’s name in Mangalore, Coimbatore, valued at Rs. 4.10 lakh. In 2012, he purchased 22.12 sq m land in Nawagaon village, Raipur Arang, for Rs. 22.60 lakh, which is now worth Rs. 43 lakh. His wife also owns agricultural land in Abhanpur tehsil, Raipur, currently valued at Rs. 18 lakh. He has a 3,600 sq ft residential plot in Serakheri, Raipur, purchased for Rs. 17.28 lakh and now worth Rs. 23 lakh.

These asset declarations reflect a blend of inherited and acquired properties, and indicate that many officers have diversified into real estate and agricultural investments, which serve as both income-generating and capital-appreciating assets.
