New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved several high-level administrative decisions, including the extension of Rajeev Singh Thakur’s tenure as Adviser in NITI Aayog, temporary additional charges for Chanchal Kumar, and extension of deputation for Manashvi Kumar.
Rajeev Singh Thakur’s Deputation Extended in NITI Aayog
Rajeev Singh Thakur (IAS: 1995: Rajasthan), who currently serves as Adviser in NITI Aayog in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, has been granted a six-month extension of his central deputation.
According to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order issued on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, the extension is effective beyond 12 December 2025 or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier. Thakur has been instrumental in key policy formulation and advisory roles in the Aayog, and this extension ensures continuity in ongoing strategic projects.
Chanchal Kumar Given Additional Charge of Secretary, Department of Telecommunications
Chanchal Kumar (IAS: 1992: Bihar), currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.
The DoPT order issued on Thursday, 11 December 2025, specifies that Kumar will hold the post from 12 December 2025 to 21 December 2025 during the leave period of Neeraj Mittal (IAS: 1992: Tamil Nadu). This temporary assignment ensures uninterrupted administrative oversight in the critical Department of Telecommunications.
Manashvi Kumar’s Deputation in Health Ministry Extended by Two Years
The ACC has also approved the extension of the central deputation of Manashvi Kumar (IAS: 2004: Punjab), Joint Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Kumar’s tenure has been extended for a period of two years beyond 14 March 2026, allowing continued leadership in ongoing health initiatives and policy implementation at the national level.
