The tenure of Unmesh Sharad Wagh as Chairperson (Additional Charge) of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has been extended up to August 23, 2025.
About Unmesh Sharad Wagh
An officer of the 2000 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Wagh has held several key positions in his career, including Assistant Commissioner (Central Excise and Customs), Deputy and Additional Director at the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, and Director of Excise in the Ministry of Finance. His early career began as a Tehsildar and Assistant Commandant in the Railway Protection Force.
Prior to his current role, he served as Commissioner of Customs at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port from December 2019 to February 2020. He has been serving as Chairperson of JNPA since January 2024.
Wagh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from COEP Technological University and an MBA from the Department of Management Sciences, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
