New Delhi: Ajay Kumar Jaiswal, a 2008-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company under Coal India Limited. His appointment was approved by the Competent Authority in July 2025 for a fixed tenure of three years.
Distinguished Professional Background
Before joining NCL, Jaiswal served as Director (Vigilance–Mechanical) at the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow. His role there involved strengthening transparency and integrity mechanisms within the Indian Railways’ technical and mechanical domains.
Academic Excellence
Jaiswal is an engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. He also holds a Post-Graduate degree in Public Administration from the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi. His combined technical expertise and governance training are expected to further enhance vigilance practices at NCL.
Role as CVO of NCL
As CVO of Northern Coalfields Limited, Jaiswal will oversee the company’s vigilance administration, ensuring adherence to ethical standards, transparency in operations, and effective preventive measures against malpractices. His leadership is expected to strengthen accountability within one of India’s largest coal-producing subsidiaries of Coal India Limited.
