New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has appointed Amit Misra, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE), as the part-time Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR). He will hold this role in addition to his current assignment at the Railway Board.
Dual Role with Railway Board and CONCOR
Misra is presently serving as Executive Director (Signal & Telecommunication) at the Railway Board. His appointment as CVO at CONCOR is on an additional charge basis for an initial term of three years, or until further orders. The Railway Board has also directed that details of his charge be submitted to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

Career Profile and Experience
Born on December 31, 1976, Misra joined the Indian Railways on September 2, 2002. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in railway operations, signaling systems, and technical leadership. His expertise is expected to further strengthen CONCOR’s vigilance framework, ensuring transparency and accountability in its operations.
Role of CVO in Strengthening Vigilance
The Chief Vigilance Officer holds a crucial role in maintaining integrity within public sector enterprises. At CONCOR, Misra will be responsible for overseeing vigilance mechanisms, preventing malpractices, and upholding ethical standards across logistics operations. His dual responsibility will enable better coordination between the Railway Board and CONCOR in vigilance-related matters.
