Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will serve as the Chief Guest at the 57th Raising Day ceremony of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday, 6 March 2026, in Mundali, Odisha. Alongside this, Mr. Shah will lay the foundation stones for the permanent campuses of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Bhubaneswar.
The Home Minister will also virtually inaugurate the transit campus of NFSU, inaugurate an exhibition on the ‘New Nyaya Sanhita’, and flag off a Mobile Forensic Van, further enhancing forensic and investigative capabilities in the state.
Strengthening Forensic Infrastructure in Odisha
The NFSU campus in Bhubaneswar marks a significant step toward strengthening the forensic and investigative infrastructure of Odisha. The permanent campus, planned on 40 acres of land allocated by the Government of Odisha, will be developed as a centre of excellence for forensic and allied sciences, aiming to train the next generation of forensic professionals.
The temporary transit campus of NFSU will begin operations with three specialized academic programs:
- M.Sc. Forensic Science
- M.Sc. Digital Forensics and Information Security
- LL.M. in Cyber Law and Cyber Crime Investigation
These programs are designed to equip students and professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills in forensic science, digital forensics, cyber law, and investigation techniques.

Inauguration of CFSL and Mobile Forensic Facilities
Mr. Amit Shah will also perform the Bhumi Pujan for the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), situated alongside the NFSU campus in Bhubaneswar. The CFSL will enhance analytical and investigative capabilities, supporting criminal investigations across Odisha and adjoining regions.
Additionally, the Mobile Forensic Van, flagged off by the Home Minister, is expected to improve on-site forensic support and expedite evidence collection during criminal investigations.
CISF 57th Raising Day Ceremony
At the CISF Raising Day event in Mundali, Mr. Shah will celebrate the achievements of the force and highlight its role in ensuring industrial and critical infrastructure security nationwide. The ceremony will be attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Home Secretary, the founder Vice-Chancellor of NFSU, and several other dignitaries.
Police Infrastructure and Collaborative Initiatives
As part of his visit, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also virtually inaugurate multiple police station buildings aimed at modernizing police infrastructure. The visit will include inaugurations of CC (Closed Circuit) and EO (Electronic Observation) facilities at select police stations.
Furthermore, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed with Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar and Rashtriya Raksha University to promote collaboration in forensic research, education, and technological advancement.
Enhancing Investigative and Academic Excellence
The establishment of NFSU and CFSL campuses in Bhubaneswar represents a major milestone in improving forensic investigation, academic research, and crime prevention in Odisha. These initiatives are expected to benefit law enforcement agencies, legal professionals, and students, while reinforcing India’s commitment to high-quality forensic education and scientific investigation standards.
