Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand (IAS:1992:AP) is reportedly likely to get a three-month extension, as his current tenure is set to end on November 30, 2025. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is said to be considering the extension. Vijayanand is widely respected for his non-controversial and efficient style of administration, making him a trusted figure in the state bureaucracy.
Speculations on Succession
Even with the potential extension, discussions continue regarding the next Chief Secretary. Some in the state bureaucracy believe that if Vijayanand is retained, he may simultaneously be designated as Special Chief Secretary with critical responsibilities reassigned, while others remain confident he will continue as Chief Secretary.
