Senior IPS officer Anish Prasad [Tripura;2003], currently serving as Executive Director (Vigilance – Police) in the Railway Board, has been appointed as Inspector General in the Border Security Force (BSF) on a lateral deputation basis. The appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge and will continue until June 21, 2026, marking the completion of his five-year central deputation tenure, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
An officer of the 2003 batch of the Indian Police Service (Tripura cadre), Prasad brings with him a distinguished career in law enforcement and investigative services. His central deputation began on June 22, 2021.
Prasad is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU), where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He also holds an international fellowship in Cyber Security from Cranfield University, United Kingdom, underlining his expertise in the increasingly critical field of digital policing and cyber defence.
During his career, he has notably served for 12 years in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), where he handled high-profile and complex cases, further strengthening his credentials in vigilance and security operations.
