New Delhi: In a major administrative development, the Central Government has approved the appointment of three Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs) in key Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) – Metal Scrap Trading Corporation Ltd. (MSTC), Paradip Port Authority (PPA), and Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA).
Appointments Approved for Three-Year Terms
According to the official order issued on Friday, all three officers have been appointed for an initial period of three years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The move is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen internal vigilance mechanisms and ensure transparency across PSUs.

Amit Kumar Gupta (IRSME: 2008)
Mr Gupta, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) from the 2008 batch, has been appointed as the Chief Vigilance Officer of Metal Scrap Trading Corporation Ltd. (MSTC), headquartered in New Delhi. His appointment comes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
R. N. Abanikant Parida (IRPS: 2011)
Mr Parida, a 2011-batch officer of the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS), has been appointed as CVO of Paradip Port Authority (PPA), located in Paradip. His appointment falls under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
Vikas Verma (IRSME: 2010)
Mr Verma, belonging to the 2010 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), has been appointed as CVO of Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), Mumbai. He will serve under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
