Awadhesh Kumar, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) from the 2005 batch, has been appointed on deputation as Joint General Manager (Electrical) at the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), Delhi. His deputation will be for a period of three years or until further orders, and will be governed by the usual terms of deputation.
Before this assignment, Kumar was serving as the Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Charging) with the Northern Railway, Delhi Division. With over a decade of experience in the electrical wing of Indian Railways, he has handled critical assignments in electrification, maintenance, and energy efficiency within the rail network.
Kumar’s move to RLDA marks a strategic shift into the infrastructure development and asset monetization segment of Indian Railways. His technical expertise is expected to contribute significantly to RLDA’s ongoing and upcoming projects focused on enhancing railway land utilization and supporting non-fare revenue generation.

It is primarily responsible for the commercial development of vacant railway land and airspace for revenue generation.
