Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), India’s leading defence public sector undertaking, has achieved a major sustainability milestone by securing the prestigious CareEdge-ESG 1 rating with an impressive ESG score of 73.8. The rating was awarded by CareEdge ESG Ratings Limited, a SEBI-registered issuer-pays ESG rating provider.

With this achievement, BEL becomes the first aerospace and defence (A&D) PSU in India to receive the top CareEdge-ESG 1 rating, underscoring its strong commitment to environmental stewardship, responsible governance, and sustainable operations.

Recognition Ceremony at Bengaluru Corporate Office

The ESG achievement was formally recognised during a ceremony at BEL’s Corporate Office in Bengaluru.

Mr. Saikat Roy, Senior Director at Care Ratings Limited and CEO of CareEdge ESG Ratings Limited, presented a memento to Mr. Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of BEL, acknowledging the company’s commitment to ESG excellence.

Mr. Nitin Dalmia, Director at Care Ratings Limited, also handed over the official ESG certificate recognising BEL’s score of 73.8 and its CareEdge-ESG 1 rating.
