New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VVDN Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a leading electronics and product engineering firm. The strategic partnership aims to jointly develop and manufacture Wi-Fi and 5G-based networking subsystems, in a significant boost to India’s self-reliance in defence and professional electronics.

The agreement was formally exchanged between BEL’s Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Manoj Jain, and VVDN’s Co-Founder and President, Mr. Vivek Bansal, marking a milestone in advancing indigenous technological capabilities in critical communication infrastructure.

Focus on Advanced Communication Systems
The partnership will focus on multiple key areas, including-

  • Wi-Fi and 5G-based networking subsystems
  • Software and networking solutions
  • Radar technologies
  • Naval communication systems
  • Applications for Indian Railways and other strategic sectors

This initiative aligns with the Indian government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, which promotes domestic production and technological innovation in high-impact industries such as defence, communications, and infrastructure.

A Synergistic Collaboration
BEL, a trusted name in aerospace and defence electronics, brings a legacy of excellence in developing mission-critical systems for the Indian Armed Forces. With deep expertise in radar, communication, and electronic warfare systems, BEL’s involvement assures high reliability and performance standards.

VVDN Technologies, known for its strong product engineering and design-to-manufacturing capabilities, complements BEL’s legacy with cutting-edge strengths in electronics design, embedded systems, and telecom infrastructure. This synergy is expected to fast-track innovation and commercialization in complex system solutions.

Strengthening India’s Indigenous Defence Ecosystem
In a joint statement, the leadership of both companies expressed optimism that this MoU would become a model of public-private collaboration to further India’s strategic autonomy in defence and communications.

“The collaboration will foster the development of next-generation networking systems required for defence communication, smart infrastructure, and secure connectivity. It’s a step forward in reducing dependency on imports and increasing India’s capabilities in mission-critical technologies,” said a senior BEL official.
