Patna: The Bihar government has announced the commencement of the application process for BC-EBC (Backward Class – Extremely Backward Class) girls in 39 residential plus-two high schools across the state. The admissions for the academic session 2026-27 will be conducted for classes 6 to 9. These schools aim to provide meritorious students from BC-EBC categories with high-quality education along with a holistic development environment. Students enrolled in these institutions receive free accommodation, meals, academic facilities, sports, and other amenities provided by the state government.
Application Process and Important Dates
According to the Department of Backward and Extremely Backward Welfare, applications will be accepted online from January 10 to February 9, 2026. The entrance examination will be conducted at the state level on March 1, 2026 (Sunday), with admit cards issued between February 15 and 22. Results will be declared on March 13, 2026, and the admission process will take place from March 16 to March 23, 2026.

Seats and Eligibility
A total of 2,159 seats are available for classes 6 to 9, distributed as follows:
- Class 6: 1,560 seats
- Class 7: 336 seats
- Class 8: 114 seats
- Class 9: 149 seats
Admissions will be based on an objective-type entrance examination of 100 marks, covering Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, with 20 marks allocated to each subject. Applicants must be aged between 10 and 16 years to be eligible.

Applications can be submitted online through the official website bcebconline.bihar.gov.in. Parents or guardians facing difficulties in the online application process can contact their respective District Office of the Backward and Extremely Backward Welfare Department for assistance. Authorities have urged applicants to complete their applications well before the deadline to avoid any inconvenience.
This initiative is part of the Bihar government’s ongoing efforts to ensure access to quality education for meritorious girls from BC-EBC categories and to empower them through educational opportunities in residential settings.
