Opposition Criticizes CM’s Development Claims
Opposition leaders reacted sharply to Nitish Kumar’s claims:
- Congress leader Rishi Mishra said Bihar ranks 20th or lower on several development indicators and questioned the Chief Minister about factory closures, including ethanol units.
- RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav called the claims hollow, stating that Bihar has the lowest per capita income and that industrial units are shutting down despite government assurances.
NDA Leaders Defend Government Initiatives
BJP leader Suresh Rungta and JD(U) MLA Meena Kumari defended the government’s actions, saying industrial growth has been a focus over the past five years. They added that providing one crore jobs and employment opportunities to youth would lead to Bihar’s economic prosperity.
Samriddhi Yatra Launched After NDA Election Victory
The Samriddhi Yatra was launched on January 16, following the NDA’s landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. The NDA won 202 of 243 seats in the state elections held last year, with results announced on November 14, 2025.
CM Nitish reiterated that the government’s Saat Nischaya-3 programme aims to achieve all development promises by 2030, positioning Bihar as a model developed state.
