Patna: Bihar’s Education Minister Sunil Kumar was awarded the prestigious “Best Education Minister Award” for his outstanding contributions to the field of education at the 46th World Management Congress held in New Delhi on Tuesday. The award recognizes his efforts toward improving educational standards, policy-driven innovations, and quality teaching in Bihar.
In the same event, Dr. N.K. Agrawal, Director of Higher Education, was conferred the “National Higher Education Administration Excellence Award” for his exceptional administrative work in higher education.
Recognition for Bihar’s Educational Reforms
The awards are an international acknowledgment of the state government’s initiatives in education reform, quality teaching, and innovative educational policies. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. N.K. Agrawal highlighted that the National Education Policy of India is being implemented in Bihar in alignment with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s visionary guidelines.
He emphasized that the state government is fully committed to building an inclusive, quality-driven, innovation-focused, and research-oriented education system.
Focus on Advanced Education and Innovation
Under the “Saat Nischay-3” programme, the state government is working toward the goal of “Uplifted Education – Bright Future”. Efforts include:
- Transforming older and prestigious educational institutions into Centres of Excellence.
- Planning the construction and development of a new Education City to further enhance learning infrastructure.
Dr. Agrawal noted that these initiatives not only honor the individuals receiving awards but also enhance Bihar’s reputation in national and international educational forums.

The 46th World Management Congress was jointly organized by the Confederation of Indian Universities, Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment, International University Nagaland, and the International Association of Educators for World Peace in New Delhi.
