Focus on Empowering Farmers Through Horticulture

The Agriculture Department has been making continuous efforts to strengthen farmers economically by encouraging horticulture-based farming. Showcasing Bihar’s Achievements in Horticulture

Visitors to the festival will get an opportunity to witness Bihar’s achievements in horticulture over the past few years. Various exhibitions will highlight improvements in productivity, quality, and diversification of horticultural crops across the state.

The festival will serve as a platform to display how horticulture has contributed to increasing farmers’ income and strengthening the agricultural economy of Bihar.

Platform for Progressive Farmers

The event will also provide progressive farmers an opportunity to showcase their horticultural products. In a dedicated complex, farmers will be able to learn about the cultivation of different varieties of fruits and vegetables using modern and innovative techniques.

This interaction will help farmers exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices related to horticulture.

Experts to Share Modern Techniques and Technologies

Agricultural scientists and experts will guide farmers on how to increase production and improve quality through the use of new technologies and modern farming methods. The focus will be on enhancing competitiveness in the production of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other horticultural products.

The festival is also expected to encourage farmers and agri-entrepreneurs to adopt better post-harvest practices and value addition.

Competitions and Activities to Attract Visitors

To make the Horticulture Festival more engaging, several competitions and activities have been planned, including:

  • Artistic flower arrangement competitions
  • Fruit and vegetable carving contests
  • Drawing and quiz competitions for children

These activities aim to generate interest among different age groups and promote awareness about horticulture in a creative manner.

Sale of Horticultural Products at Reasonable Prices

Various stalls will be set up to display a wide range of horticultural products, which will also be available for sale to the general public at reasonable prices. This will give consumers access to fresh produce while providing farmers with direct market exposure.

Boost to Horticulture Sector in Bihar

Officials believe that the festival will play a significant role in strengthening the horticulture sector, improving farmers’ knowledge, and encouraging the adoption of modern techniques. The event is expected to contribute to increased income, better quality produce, and overall growth of horticulture in Bihar.
