Patna: The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has issued a major administrative reshuffle, assigning new responsibilities to 11 IAS officers, most of whom belong to the 2020 and 2023 batches. A notification regarding the transfers and postings has been released by the General Administration Department (GAD).

Following the completion of their Professional Course Training and formal retirement from the academy on July 25, 2025, the 2023-batch IAS officers were awaiting postings. With this reshuffle, most have now been deployed to key field positions, particularly as Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) across various districts.

Key Postings and Transfers

Garima Lohia – Appointed as SDO, Paliganj (Patna)

Tushar Kumar – Appointed as SDO, Muzaffarpur East

Anirudh Pandey – Appointed as SDO, Mohania (Kaimur)

Kritika Mishra – Appointed as SDO, Pakri Dayal (East Champaran)

Akanksha Anand – Appointed as SDO, Barsoi (Katihar)

Anjali Sharma – Appointed as Special Officer, Social Welfare Department, Patna

Shipra Vijay Kumar Chaudhary – Appointed as Special Officer, Education Department, Patna

Neha Kumari – Appointed as Special Officer, Health Department, Patna

Strengthening Field Administration

This reshuffle is seen as part of the state government’s routine process of positioning young IAS officers in field-level administrative roles to enhance governance and delivery of services. By assigning subdivisions to the 2023 batch officers, the government aims to infuse fresh energy, training, and grassroots experience into the bureaucracy.

Many of the officers have already contributed during training stints in various districts and are expected to now independently handle administrative, law and order, and developmental responsibilities in their respective subdivisions.
