Bihar is witnessing a transformative shift in its economic landscape as the state accelerates efforts towards industrialisation. While the capital city of Patna remains a focal point, large-scale industrial parks are now being developed in districts like Gaya, Munger, and Madhubani, among others. Gayaji to Emerge as Bihar’s Largest Industrial Hub
After the success of Bihta, Gayaji is now set to become Bihar’s biggest industrial hub. A state-of-the-art industrial park is being planned across 1,670 acres in the area. This ambitious project is part of a broader vision to boost manufacturing and attract investments.
Under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor, an Integrated Manufacturing Cluster is being developed in Dobhi (Gaya) at a cost of Rs. 1,339 crore. This cluster is expected to play a pivotal role in generating employment for lakhs of people and catalyzing economic growth in the region.
Diverse Industrial Sectors to Drive Employment in Gayaji
The planned industrial cluster in Gayaji will cater to multiple sectors:
- 192.05 acres for food processing
- 83.50 acres for furniture
- 192.05 acres for readymade garments and leatherite

- 133.72 acres for building materials
- 16.70 acres for handloom and handicrafts
- 50.10 acres for logistics

In total, the cluster will create 43,000 direct and indirect jobs in the industrial sector, and an additional 9,000 jobs in the commercial sector.
Munger, Vaishali, and Madhubani Also See Rapid Industrial Expansion
In Munger’s Sangrampur zone, 50 acres of government land has been transferred to the Industries Department, and infrastructure construction is already underway. Similar progress is being made in other districts:
- 1243.45 acres in Vaishali (Jandaha, Raja Pakad, Mahua) and Sitamarhi (Nanpur, Sonvarsha)

These projects aim to decentralize industrial growth beyond Patna and integrate backward districts into Bihar’s growth story.
