Saran, Bihar: In a bold move reinforcing his reputation for discipline and transparency, 2012 batch IPS officer Dr Kumar Ashish, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Saran district, has taken strict action against underperforming police personnel. The salaries of 98 police officers have been withheld due to their failure to actively pursue or resolve cases during March 2025.
The action is part of a special campaign launched by the SSP to accelerate the resolution of pending cases across the district. Officers who executed two or fewer cases in the given month were penalized, while those who showed exemplary performance have been commended.
On the other hand, 18 police officers who solved 10 or more cases in March have been officially honored by the SSP. “Their dedication is commendable. This recognition aims to boost morale and set a benchmark for others,” said Dr. Kumar Ashish.
Reaffirming his commitment to accountability, the SSP stated, “This campaign will continue, and strict action will be taken against corrupt or negligent personnel without hesitation.”
Dr. Ashish, known for his no-nonsense approach and dedication to reforming the force, continues to make headlines for initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and public trust in the police system.
