Patna: Under the Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transferred ₹10,000 per beneficiary to the accounts of 10 lakh women for the fifth time. The funds, totaling ₹1,000 crore, were disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on 26 September 2025 as part of the Women’s Self-Employment Scheme.
Impact and Reach of the Scheme
Since its launch in September 2025, the scheme has transferred ₹15,600 crore to the accounts of 14.6 million women across Bihar. The initiative aims to empower women to become self-reliant and self-employed, enabling them to start their own businesses and improve their socio-economic status.
Payments to 927,559 beneficiaries are currently pending due to application errors, which will be resolved to ensure fund transfer. The scheme has already facilitated the entrepreneurial journey of a large number of women who have established businesses using the disbursed amounts.
