IFS officer Bishwajit Kumar Singh has been appointed as Additional Director General of Forests (ADGF) in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), New Delhi. According to an order issued by the MoEFCC, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Singh to the post on a deputation basis under the Central Staffing Scheme with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post till his attaining the age of superannuation i.e. 31.01.2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as Principal Secretary of School Education, J&K Government.
