Delhi Police’s Economic Offences and Crime Branch Merged

• After the announcement of the merger of the Crime Branch into Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), the 1995 batch IPS officer Mr. Devesh Chandra Shrivastava was appointed as Special Commissioner now will also head the Crime Branch.

On Tuesday, the official order was issued by the Home Department with the Lieutenant Governor’s approval regarding the merger of the Crime Branch into Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW). The order also states that the 1995 batch IPS officer Mr. Devesh Chandra Shrivastava, who is presently heading the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing as Special Commissioner now will also head the Crime Branch.

Earlier Mr. Devesh Chandra Shrivastava was holding the responsibility of Crime Branch in addition after the transfer of incumbent officer Mr. Praveen Ranjan. He was transferred as DG Chandigarh.
