These reshuffles come into effect immediately, as per the orders issued by the Department of Personnel.
Mr. Vishesh Sarangal to Spearhead Punjab’s Digital Governance Vision
Mr. Vishesh Sarangal, a 2013-batch IAS officer and Chief Administrator of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar, has been entrusted with a critical portfolio. He has been appointed Special Secretary, Good Governance and Information Technology, and Director, Good Governance and IT. Additionally, he will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab State e-Governance Society. His new roles signify Punjab’s strengthened commitment to digital transformation and transparent administration.
Ms. Sakshi Sawhney to Lead Urban Development as GMADA Chief
Ms. Sakshi Sawhney, a 2014-batch IAS officer and outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, has been posted as the Chief Administrator of GMADA. Her services are now under the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This strategic move places a dynamic officer at the helm of Punjab’s premier urban planning body, reinforcing the government’s focus on sustainable urban growth in the Mohali region.
District Leadership Reshuffled to Accelerate Field-Level Impact
Mr. Aditya Uppal, a 2014-batch IAS officer, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Pathankot and also Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Pathankot, has now been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur. He replaces Mr. Dalwinderjit Singh, a 2017-batch IAS officer, who has been transferred to Amritsar as the new Deputy Commissioner. These movements reflect a calculated effort to inject experienced leadership into key border districts.
Ms. Pallavi to Take Charge in Pathankot for Dual Role
Ms. Pallavi, also a 2017-batch IAS officer, who previously held multiple special secretary-level portfolios in Water Supply & Sanitation, Power, and Renewable Energy, has now been posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Pathankot. She will also serve as the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Pathankot, succeeding Mr. Aditya Uppal. Her field experience is expected to strengthen integrated development at the district level.
Young Officer Mr. Harpreet Singh Steps Into State-Level Water Portfolio
Mr. Harpreet Singh, a 2019-batch IAS officer and the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Fatehgarh Sahib, will replace Ms. Pallavi in the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation. This appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Punjab’s critical water management and rural infrastructure programs.
