CBIC Accepts Voluntary Retirement Application of M. Chenchuraman from IRS(C&IT)

New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has approved the voluntary retirement application of M. Chenchuraman, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes), effective March 31, 2025.

Chenchuraman, who is currently posted in the GST & CX Zone in Chennai, will retire after serving the department for an extensive period. His voluntary retirement marks the end of a distinguished tenure in the IRS(C&IT), where he made significant contributions to the administration of indirect taxes.

The CBIC’s acceptance of his application has come as a significant development within the department, though the reasons behind his decision remain personal.
