The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has accepted the voluntary retirement application of Mr. M. Chenchuraman, an IRS (C&IT) officer, with effect from March 31, 2025. He is currently posted in the GST & Central Excise (CX) Zone, Chennai.
The CBIC, functioning under the Ministry of Finance, is responsible for administering indirect taxes in India, including GST, customs duties, and central excise. It plays a crucial role in tax policy formulation, enforcement, and revenue collection for the government.
