New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared the appointment of IAS officer Yogendra Singh (IAS:2013:BH) as Private Secretary to Giriraj Singh, Union Minister for Textiles.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), his appointment is for a term of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mr Singh’s appointment will come into effect from the date he assumes charge. The posting is co-terminus with the tenure of the minister.
Vir Vikram Yadav
In another significant decision, Vir Vikram Yadav (IAS:1996:OR), currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), has been given additional charge as Chairman of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The DoPT order states that Yadav will hold the additional charge until a regular appointment is made or until further notice. The assignment comes at a time when environmental governance and pollution control are top policy priorities for the Centre.
These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing focus on placing experienced bureaucrats in key administrative roles to drive policy implementation effectively.
