New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced two key central deputation appointments in Delhi, effective from the date of assumption of charge.
Pawan Kumar Appointed Director, UPSC
Pawan Kumar (ICoAS:2010) has been appointed as Director in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for a period of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
His central deputation was recommended by the Department of Expenditure. The appointment was confirmed through an official order issued by the DoPT on May 28, 2025. Kumar is expected to bring his expertise in financial administration and audit to the prestigious recruitment body.
Paras Mehendiratta Joins Central Vigilance Commission
Paras Mehendiratta (IRSME:2014) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) for a tenure of four years. His name was recommended by the Ministry of Railways for central deputation.
The appointment was also cleared by the competent authority and announced via a DoPT order dated May 28, 2025. Mehendiratta is expected to contribute to the Commission’s mission of promoting integrity and transparency in public administration.

- Pawan Kumar is a 2010-batch officer of the Indian Cost Accounts Service (ICoAS)
- Paras Mehendiratta is a 2014-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME).
Both officers bring significant domain expertise and experience to their new roles in key central institutions.
