IAS officer Apurva Chandra has been given additional charge of Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare. Earlier, the charge was held by Sudhandhu Pant who has returned to his parent cadre and assumed the role of Chief Secretary, Rajasthan.
Mr. Apurva Chandra is currently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He is an IAS of 1988 batch and Maharashtra cadre. He has also served as Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment. The officer is a graduate in Civil Engineering and has done Masters in Structural Engineering from IIT Delhi.
