Mr. Ashok Kumar (IAS) recently assumed office as the new Director General of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Union Government, at its Headquarters in New Delhi.
Mr. Ashok Kumar is a 1999-batch Kerala cadre IAS officer who had earlier served as the Principal Secretary in the Water Resources Department of the Government of Kerala. He has a galore of experience, having served in several governance and management roles of District and State level organisations.
At the Union level, he has served as the Executive Director of the National Mission for Clean Ganga, as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence and as a Director in the Ministry of Finance. Officer Singh holds an M. Phil Degree from the National Defence College and is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur.
