Bangalore: Changdev Sukhdev Kamble has been re-appointed as a Non-official Director (Independent Director) on the board of KIOCL Limited for a period of one year, effective from April 15, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
KIOCL Limited, a central public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, is known for its significant role in the iron ore and steel industry. The company operates its head office and administrative activities in Bangalore, with a pelletisation plant in Mangalore and previously operated one of the largest iron ore mines in Kudremukh (Chikkamagaluru district), which was closed in 2006.
Dr. Kamble holds an M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Marathi from Pune University and Solapur University, respectively. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has served as a Professor of Marathi at Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara.
He also served as an Independent Director on the Board of KIOCL Limited from November 1, 2021, to the completion of his tenure on October 31, 2024. During his tenure, he played a significant role in corporate governance, chairing both the Audit Committee and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, while also serving as a member of the Stakeholders’ Relationship and Risk Management Committees. His leadership in these areas contributed to the strategic decision-making and oversight of the company. His extensive academic background and commitment to education add valuable insight to the board of KIOCL Limited.
