Raipur: In response to the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, the Chhattisgarh government has put the state on high alert. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai conducted a high-level review meeting via video conferencing with all commissioners, IGs, collectors, and SPs to assess the availability and distribution of essential commodities, including petroleum products, LPG, and fertilizers.
The meeting aimed to ensure uninterrupted supplies and prevent panic or misinformation among citizens.
No Shortage of Essential Commodities
During the review, officials confirmed that the state currently has adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders, and fertilizers. The supply chain is functioning normally, and there is no need for public panic.
CM Sai directed officials to communicate accurate information promptly to the public to curb rumors and maintain transparency.
Control Rooms and Public Helpline
The state government has set up a centralized control room for monitoring the supply of essential commodities. Citizens can contact 1800-233-3663 for any complaints or queries related to gas supply.
Additionally, district-level control rooms have been established, and officials are instructed to regularly monitor supplies and report any irregularities.
Strict Action Against Hoarding and Black Marketing
Chief Minister Sai issued clear directives to take strict action against hoarding and black marketing of essential items. Petrol pumps and gas agencies are being closely monitored, and stock inspections are carried out regularly to prevent suspicious activities.
As part of enforcement actions, 335 locations across the state were raided, leading to the seizure of 3,841 gas cylinders and registration of 97 FIRs. However, no confirmed cases of black marketing were reported.
Ensuring Fertilizer Supply to Farmers
Officials confirmed that fertilizer stocks are sufficient to meet farmers’ needs. Measures are being strengthened to ensure timely distribution and prevent hoarding, ensuring that agricultural operations continue without disruption.
Special Measures for Critical Institutions
The government has issued specific instructions to maintain uninterrupted gas supply in hospitals, hostels, railway stations, airports, and other key institutions. Supply chains for petrol and diesel are under continuous monitoring.
Furthermore, border checkposts have been put on high alert, with vigilance over the movement of fuel and LPG cylinders to prevent any illegal activities.
