Nagpur: The Chief Justice of India (CJI) Bhushan Gavai, who is also the Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Nagpur, will complete the inauguration of the new administrative building of the university on June 29 at 10:30 AM. During this visit, the CJI will also perform the foundation laying ceremony for a new academic building for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar School of Law at Nagpur University and will also inaugurate a specially curated Preamble Park.
CJI Gavai will be in Nagpur for a three-day official visit starting on June 27, an important milestone for MNLU in terms of infrastructure and future academic development.
Dignitaries to Grace the Occasion
The MNLU programme will witness the participation of several prominent leaders and jurists:
- Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways
- Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra
- Supreme Court Judges: Dipankar Datta, Ujjal Bhuyan, Prasanna Varale
- Justice Atul Chandurkar and Justice Alok Aradhe (Pro-Chancellor of MNLU) from Bombay High Court
- Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Revenue Minister
- Justice Nitin Sambre and Justice Anil Kilor, Bombay HC Nagpur Bench
In addition, Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta, MNLU Vice-Chancellor Vijender Kumar, and Registrar-in-Charge Ragini Khubalkar will also be in attendance.
A Modern Architectural Landmark
According to a press release from MNLU, the new administrative building is a showcase of modern architecture. It houses the offices of the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Deputy Registrars, Examination Section, Proctor, Chief Wardens, Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Law Museum, Finance and Engineering Officers, University Press, and other administrative units. All facilities are described as “world-class.”
Sustainable and Tech-Enabled Infrastructure
The newly constructed facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology and follows eco-friendly principles. It has been developed in alignment with the university’s vision to support academic excellence and create an environment conducive to higher learning.
The building was designed by Bengaluru-based architects Manoj Ladhad and Sandeep J, and constructed under the supervision of Suresh Patel, Chief Engineer, Public Works Region, Nagpur, with inputs from JH Bhanuse, Superintending Engineer (PWD), and other senior officials.
