Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel chaired a high-level review meeting in Gandhinagar to assess the progress of 32 strategically significant development projects worth over ₹1.74 lakh crore, spanning seven key departments of the Gujarat government.
The review session, part of the ongoing “Viksit Gujarat” mission inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat, included detailed presentations from senior secretaries and top officials. Chief Secretary Mr. Pankaj Joshi, Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Mr. M.K. Das, and other top bureaucrats were present.
“No Delays, No Compromise on Quality” – CM’s Firm Message
Reiterating his commitment to infrastructure-led growth, CM Patel instructed officials to ensure quality, speed, and accountability in executing all high-priority projects.
“Development-oriented projects are crucial indicators of integrated growth. They must be completed on time and without compromise on quality,” he said, adding that delays would only lead to unnecessary financial escalation.

Key Projects Reviewed
Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project
The Chief Minister instructed that compensation for land acquisition must be completed by August 2025, to avoid disruption in execution timelines.
Khavda Renewable Energy Park (30 GW)
CM Patel was informed that 64% of work has already been completed, with 6,862 MW capacity already operational. He directed the Energy Department to ensure full project completion by December 2026.
Sabarmati Riverfront Development (Phases 1–6)
Chairman I.P. Gautam shared progress updates from Vasna Barrage to Gandhinagar Thermal Power Station, covering multiple riverfront expansion phases aimed at improving livability and tourism infrastructure.
Dream City, Surat
Inspired by PM Modi’s vision, the master plan for infrastructure and urban development of Surat’s Dream City was presented. The CM emphasized need for phased and sustainable development in coordination with urban authorities.
Kaushalya – The Skill University
During the Labour and Employment Department’s presentation, CM Patel called for speedy completion of the university campus and linked projects to boost skill-based employment in Gujarat.
Update on National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal
The Ports and Transport Department reported that the state has completed:
- Allocation of 400 acres of land
- Water pipeline installation
- Electricity transmission line setup
- Road widening to four lanes from Saragwada to the site
Support infrastructure such as a PHC, police station, bus terminal, and state pavilion is under construction, while planning for the Lothal tourism circuit has commenced.
