Dehradun: In a scathing attack on organized examination fraud in the state, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami declared a war against what he termed as “cheating jihad”, stating that the government will crush the cheating and coaching mafia to dust. Addressing BJP office bearers in Dehradun on Wednesday, the CM said that vested interests are uniting to derail the careers of hardworking youth and disrupt the state’s education ecosystem.
Anti-Cheating Law Triggered Crackdown, Over 100 Arrests So Far
CM Dhami highlighted that since the implementation of Uttarakhand’s strict anti-cheating law, the state has made major strides in tackling exam-related corruption. According to him, more than 100 individuals involved in cheating mafias have been arrested under the new law.
“We have implemented the country’s best anti-cheating law. These mafias are now desperate, and in their frustration, they are attempting to wage what I call a ‘cheating jihad’ in Devbhoomi,” Dhami said.
25,000 Youths Secured Government Jobs Transparently in Four Years
Underscoring the positive impact of the crackdown, the CM stated that over 25,000 young individuals have secured government jobs transparently in the last four years.
“Our youth are clearing competitive exams with their own merit. But some people can’t digest this progress. These coaching mafias are trying to push our youth’s future into darkness,” Dhami added.
“Cheating Jihad” Is a Desperate Attempt to Create Chaos, Says CM
CM Dhami alleged that even before investigations are completed in some cases, certain elements are trying to incite unrest and chaos in the name of student protests.
He referred to these orchestrated efforts as “cheating jihad”, a term he used multiple times during his address, warning that the government would not tolerate any such “conspiracy to derail the future of youth.”
“The government is committed to destroying this nexus, and we will not allow any such plans to succeed,” he asserted.
Government to Act With Full Force Against Exam Mafias
Sending a stern message, Dhami emphasized that the state is united and determined to eliminate the influence of exam mafias, no matter how organized or politically backed they may be.
“We will not let Uttarakhand become a haven for cheating mafias. This is Devbhoomi—not a playground for such elements,” he concluded.
