Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 15 newly selected assistant teachers under the Tribal Welfare Department at the Chief Sevak Sadan, CM residence. On the occasion, he also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various departmental construction projects worth over ₹15 crore.
Focus on Education and Infrastructure
Congratulating the newly appointed teachers, CM Dhami expressed confidence that the youth educators will play a vital role in shaping the holistic development of the new generation. He said these projects would not only strengthen the infrastructure of tribal communities but also ensure better facilities for citizens.
The CM highlighted the central government’s efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pointing out that the tribal development budget has been tripled compared to earlier times. He also recalled initiatives like celebrating Birsa Munda Jayanti as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.

Expanding Educational Opportunities
Currently, four Eklavya Model Residential Schools are operational in Kalsi, Mehraun, Bajpur, and Khatima, providing free education and hostel facilities for tribal children. A proposal has also been submitted for new Eklavya schools in Pithoragarh for Bhotiya and Raji tribes.
Sixteen state-run ashram schools are functional, ensuring scholarships and quality education, while three ITIs are providing technical education to tribal youth.
Safeguarding Culture and Heritage
