Ujjain/Bhopal: In a major push to strengthen the fisheries sector and support the livelihoods of fishermen in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will participate in the state-level Nishad Raj Sammelan and Training Program on the occasion of National Fisherman’s Day, scheduled for July 10 at the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy Campus, Ujjain.
The Chief Minister will launch and lay the foundation for a slew of ambitious initiatives worth over ₹154 crore aimed at increasing fish production, creating employment, and modernizing the fisheries infrastructure in the state.
Major Announcements and Projects
As part of the event, CM Yadav will virtually perform Bhoomi Pujan for:
- 453 Smart Fish Parlors across the state, at a cost of ₹22.65 crore, to promote hygienic and profitable fish marketing.
- A state-of-the-art Aqua Park featuring an underwater tunnel in Ujjain, being developed at a cost of ₹40 crore, to promote eco-tourism and awareness about aquatic biodiversity.
- 3060 Cage Culture Units in the Indira Sagar Reservoir, at an investment of ₹91.80 crore, to boost inland fish farming and employment opportunities.
Welfare and Empowerment of Fishermen
During the Sammelan, CM Yadav will also:
- Distribute acceptance letters and launch the supply of 430 motorcycles with ice boxes to beneficiaries for fish transport.
- Provide approval letters for 396 cage culture units and other fish feed-related support.
- Distribute awards to individual fishermen and fisheries cooperatives for outstanding performance in the sector.
In a key welfare move, the CM will transfer ₹9.63 crore in deferred wages to members of the Matsya Mahasangh (Fishermen’s Federation) through a single-click digital transfer and issue royalty cheques, marking a direct support mechanism for the fishing community.
‘Ek Desh-Ek Vidhan’ Program: Tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee
Earlier today, CM Mohan Yadav addressed the ‘Ek Desh-Ek Vidhan’ program in Bhopal, organized to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, the founding president of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and a champion of national unity.
Sharing highlights of the event on social media platform X, CM Yadav wrote:
“Addressed the ‘Ek Desh-Ek Vidhan’ program on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of revered Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee ji, the visionary of ‘Akhand Bharat’. We are proud that Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji fulfilled his dream by abrogating Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Now, India has ‘one constitution’ and one law.”
He further emphasized that Dr. Mukherjee’s life and ideas remain relevant in shaping the course of independent India, and his supreme sacrifice will continue to inspire generations.
