Etah: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday inaugurated Shree Cement’s new plant in Etah district, calling it a major milestone in the state’s industrial and economic development. The CM used the occasion to underline the transformation of Uttar Pradesh under BJP governance, especially in terms of law and order and industrial progress.
Zero Tolerance for Crime, Focus on Development
Speaking at the event, CM Yogi emphasized the state’s zero-tolerance approach to crime and its aggressive push for development.
“When the government’s intentions are clear and there is zero tolerance for crime and criminals, coupled with an eagerness to drive development, remarkable changes happen,” he said.
He recalled how Etah was once dominated by criminal elements who enjoyed political protection, especially 8–9 years ago. “The mafia seized lands of the poor, and the people’s voices were ignored,” he said. “Now, Etah is recognised for strong law enforcement and zero tolerance for such activities.”
Boost to Employment Through Industrial Projects
The Chief Minister also highlighted nearby infrastructure developments, including the Jawaharpur thermal power plant, which, along with the Shree Cement plant, is expected to boost local employment and create a more conducive business environment.
“These projects reflect the government’s commitment to both infrastructure and job creation,” Adityanath said.
Sharp Criticism of Previous Governments
Yogi Adityanath took aim at previous regimes led by the Congress and Samajwadi Party, accusing them of nurturing crime and failing to ensure safety and economic progress.
“Under their regimes, criminal activities surged, women’s safety declined, and traders received no meaningful benefits,” he remarked.
Drawing a broader historical analogy, he added, “First the Mughals looted India, then the British, and later, the Congress and Samajwadi Party caused further devastation.”
Economic Growth Under Modi Government
The CM also praised the central government’s economic leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out that India, which had slipped from being the 6th-largest economy in the 1960s to 11th in 2014, has now become the 4th-largest economy globally, thanks to what he described as “visionary policies.”
UP’s Rise to the Top
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s progress, Adityanath stated that the state, once ranked 7th before 2017, now holds the 2nd position among Indian states in terms of development and economic strength. He credited this rise to the BJP’s “double-engine government”—a reference to the same party governing both state and centre.
A Major Step in UP’s Industrial Growth
The inauguration of the Shree Cement plant represents a major step in Uttar Pradesh’s industrial strategy. It signals the government’s intent to attract private investment, improve infrastructure, and create long-term employment opportunities.
